Sometimes right before bed, I make a spontaneous decision to wake up for sunrise. Being out in nature with nothing but my camera and muesli brings me a peace I cannot describe.
This particular morning I ventured to Hinze Dam with no particular vision in mind, only a curiosity about how the light would interact with the environment. There was a stillness to the water I don’t often see there, and the contrast of life and death in the trees was emphasised by the light and shade of sunrise.
What a glorious moment to witness, despite my camera battery flashing the entire time.
